UK Saves Energy is an independent UK-based awareness and guidance initiative that helps homeowners and tenants understand and access government-backed energy-efficiency funding, including ECO4 (Energy Company Obligation Phase 4) and the Great British Insulation Scheme (GBIS). We are not a government organisation — but we are deeply committed to raising awareness, building trust, and connecting households with certified local installers who deliver genuine, fully funded home upgrades. Our goal is simple: To make every UK home warmer, more efficient, and less expensive to run — using real government support. How It All Started UK Saves Energy began from personal experience. Our founder, Kamaran Hameed, spent years working as an Energy Advisor, going door to door across communities, speaking directly with homeowners about how they could benefit from government-funded schemes. He quickly realised a huge problem: Many households in real need of help didn’t trust or understand these grants. Some had homes with old, inefficient boilers, thin insulation, or drafty lofts, but they were sceptical — unsure how something so valuable could really be free. Others simply didn’t have the time to talk at the door. Some worked from home or were busy with family, and the idea of signing up for something on their doorstep felt risky. That skepticism meant thousands of people were missing out on life-changing improvements that could lower their bills and make their homes more comfortable. To solve that, Kamaran decided to take the initiative online — creating a transparent and trusted platform where people could learn about these government-backed schemes at their own pace, verify the information on official GOV.UK and Ofgem websites, and reach out to us safely when ready. What started as a door-to-door awareness effort grew into a national digital initiative built on trust, knowledge, and real impact.
